Mother Tongue Languages Symposium 2014
Singapore - Into its third year, the Mother Tongue Languages Symposium (MTLS) 2014 inspired learning of Mother Tongue languages through a one day fun-filled exhibition packed with creative activities and engaging performances by schools and educational organizations. Themed “Flourish in the Wonderland of Our Languages”, the event held on 23rd August at Suntec City, welcomed an approximate 11,000 visitors, and was held in conjunction with Mother Tongue Language Learning and Promotion Committees (MTLLPC) “Outstanding Pre-School Mother Tongue Language Teacher Award Ceremony”.
Milton Singapore worked closely with Ministry of Education (MOE), the joint organizer together with MTLLPC, to develop the event creative, program flow and overall event management. Transforming the ballroom into a “wonderland”, our creative team proposed event mascots that were presented on the colourful panels and interactive exhibits such as photo taking décor and props, to create a long lasting event branding and connection with children and families alike.
Milton Singapore also created a touch screen program application for the MOE booth, using multimedia interactive to showcase the new 2015 Primary level Mother Tongue Curriculum for Chinese, Malay and Tamil.
Together with 40 exhibitors and a daylong of activities and performances, the symposium showcased the shared creative efforts of schools and community in encouraging mother tongue languages and having fun in the process.
Also working closely with the organizers on the overall event flow of the opening ceremony and award presentation, Milton Singapore’s event team created an animated launch video for the event, and managed the registration for approximately 600 attendees through an APP platform for a more efficient process, a first for MOE which resulted in nary a queue or congestion.
