Hong Kong - “Storm glass” is claimed to be a device for weather forecasting. The chemical solution inside the bottle can sense the weather changes and react by having different appearance like feathers, leaves and snow.

The craze of storm glass is sweeping across Japan and Taiwan in recent years, the storm glasses have been snapped up.

Hong Kong has always been on top to the latest trends. A group of local craftsmen even launched classes to teach the making of storm glass!

In view of this, Milton jointly held a 2-hour-storm glass workshop with YMCA at the YMCA Kornhill Centre located in Tai Koo. We have invited and sponsored around 20 high school students to participate in this event. The initiative serves to provide an opportunity for Milton to contribute to our society whilst at the same time create an opportunity for the teenagers to explore the science of everyday life.

Apart from the beautiful “Storm glass” that the participants could take away from the class, they also brought home some principles, history and scientific knowledge of the product. We hope to launch more creative workshops for our communities in the future.
